#Rome December 8, is the religious holiday of the “Immaculate Conception” dogma of faith proclaimed by Pope Pius IX in 1854.
On the occasion of recital recital was placed in Piazza Mignanelli, next to Piazza di Spagna in 1857, a column bearing in the top an image of the Virgin.
The column comes from Roman excavations, while the statue was carved by G.Obici.
The statue was erected with the help of 220 firefighters and for this reason even today the vigilants place flowers on the Madonna in that celebration.
