#Roma: December 8 is the Catholic feast of the “Immaculate Conception”, a dogma of faith proclaimed by Pope Pius IX in 1854. On this occasion, a column bearing a statue of the Virgin Mary was placed in Piazza Mignanelli next to Piazza di Spagna in 1857.
